POSITION SUMMARY: Twelve-month, open-rank, clinical faculty position to serve as the Program Director for the online Post-Professional Occupational Therapy Doctorate (PP-OTD) program. The Program Director is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the PPOTD program, including program planning and development, program organization, program administration, mentoring and development of faculty and staff, identification and onboarding of adjunct faculty and guest lecturers, fiscal management of the program, program enrollment and retention, student outcomes and program assessment, review, and analysis. The role includes teaching, mentorship, research, and service. The Director of the PPOTD program works collaboratively with the Program Director of the accredited entry-level Master of Science in Occupational Therapy program and the other post-professional programs in Athletic Training, Health Sciences and Speech-Language Pathology.

Preferred start date is August 2026.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Program Director Responsibilities:

  • Develop and direct the Post-Professional Occupational Therapy Doctorate Program
  • Lead admissions and assessment processes for the program.
  • Maintain records of program policies, procedures, and program data in a shared cloud
  • The individual will be proficient in online learning platforms, hybrid learning, and online andragogy.
  • The individual will teach and develop courses within the PP-OTD program and, as applicable, across the School of Rehabilitation Sciences and College of Health
  • Faculty in the School of Rehabilitation Sciences and the College of Health are expected to collaborate in team-teaching within the program(s), participate in interprofessional education across the School and College, and assist in all aspects of program design, development, implementation, assessment, and administration.
  • Recruit, mentor, support, and evaluate adjunct faculty in the program
  • Work collaboratively with the MSOT Program director to envision a comprehensive educational pathway for Occupational Therapy at the University.
  • Mentor students in research
  • Preference will be given to individuals with both face-to-face and online teaching experience and clinical supervision experience.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Earned research doctorate (e.g. PhD, EdD, DSc) or post-professional clinical doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy (OTD) or related field required
  • Meets or exceeds standards for licensure as an Occupational Therapist in Pennsylvania
  • Minimum of five years of full-time practice experience in occupational therapy
  • Minimum of four years of successful teaching experience at the college level
  • Evidence of curriculum development
  • Evidence of online teaching experience
  • Evidence of successful scholarship and sustained scholarly agenda (for candidates interested in a tenure-track appointment)
  • Demonstrated engagement and service to the Occupational Therapy profession preferred
