Garrison Forest School is seeking an experienced professional for this full-time role of Athletic Trainer, beginning July 2025. The general responsibilities of the Garrison Forest Athletic Trainer will include, but will not be limited to the domains set forth by the National Athletic Trainers Association which encompass the prevention, examination, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of emergent, acute or chronic injuries and medical conditions. The salary range for this position is $50,000-$65,000 based on years of experience and education level; the exact compensation will be discussed during the hiring process.

In accordance with Maryland state licensure, the Athletic Trainer will provide athletic training services to student-athletes under the direction of a supervising physician.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities for the Athletic Trainer position will include but will not be limited to:

  • Coordinates and delivers athletic training services to Upper and Middle school athletes
  • Insure that all participants in Garrison Forest School athletics have proper physical examinations and medical paperwork prior to participation
  • Support Health Center with health forms compliance for all students school wide
  • Apply protective padding, bracing and taping to student-athletes
  • Communicate with parents regarding the care and treatment of their student-athlete
  • Serves as a liaison for student athletes and the Boyce Center in support with the Wellness Initiative of Garrison Forest
  • Monitor environmental conditions and make recommendations regarding safe participation
  • Maintain accurate records of injuries, treatments, and rehabilitations. Maintain confidentiality
  • Maintain an inventory of equipment and supplies. Provide the Athletic Director with an annual budget for supplies and equipment
  • Assist with collecting athletic uniforms at the end of each season
  • Maintain national certification, state licensure, and CPR certification through continuing education

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree required, Masters preferred
  • Certified by the Board of Certification (BOC)
  • Licensed or eligible to be licensed in the state of Maryland upon start date
  • CPR, AED and First Aid certified

Abilities/Skills

  • The ability to work in a creative and collaborative team environment where change is embraced and innovation is encouraged
  • Occasional reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching
  • Occasional heavy physical effort (lift/carry 26 to 50 lbs)
  • Ability to work at a computer for an extended period of time, including repetitive use of a keyboard and mouse
  • Knowledge with Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Calendar
