Duties and Responsibilities:
The Assistant Strength Coach assists the head strength coach in development, scheduling, and implementation of the speed, strength and conditioning needs of the student-athletes for the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. This includes, but is not limited to, staffing the HHP weight room and developing and implementing strength, speed and conditioning programs for the Universitys seventeen intercollegiate athletic teams.

This individual has a primary responsibility of overseeing the strength, speed and conditioning development of the student-athletes. The Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach is required to maintain scheduled office hours to supervise assigned intercollegiate workouts in the HHP weight room. This includes maintenance of detailed records of lifting sessions performed by student-athletes in accordance with normal strength and conditioning program protocol.

Authority:
The Assistant Coach would defer major decisions regarding the program to the head strength and conditioning coach. However, in the absence of the head coach, the assistant assumes full responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the strength and conditioning program.

Organizational Relationships:
The Assistant Strength Coach reports directly to the head strength coach.

As an employee of the Intercollegiate Athletics Department, this individual will be actively involved in relationships with the following University offices: faculty/staff of HHP and campus recreation.

External relationships will exist with students, community groups, and the local and national strength and conditioning communities. More specifically, this individual would hold membership in the National Strength & Conditioning Association ( NSCA ), the National Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Association or another similar membership group.

A bachelors degree is required. Strength & Conditioning Certification from the NSCA or CSCCa and current CPR and First Aid certification are required. USAW and FMS certifications are preferred. Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations is a prerequisite for this position.
