Part-Time, Director of Mens and Womens Tennis

Ohio Wesleyan University ( www.owu.edu ) is a selective, private, undergraduate liberal arts, residential institution founded in 1842 and is located just 20 miles north of Columbus.

Ohio Wesleyan University’s Intercollegiate Athletics invites applications for the position of Director of Men’s & Women’s Tennis. This is a 10-month Part-Time position.

The Director of Tennis will be responsible for all phases of strong leadership in managing a competitive NCAA division III men’s and women’s tennis programs. The ability to coach and teach all aspects of the game, provide leadership and mentor student-athletes, recruit and have the ability to evaluate talent and potential, are essential skills. Administrative and operational duties such as arrange travel, manage budget, and develop alumni contacts and fund-raising are also essential duties of the director.

The Director will supervise an assistant or assistant part-time coaches for the program based on needs and expectations of the program. It is also expected that the Director of Tennis will embrace the department mission of supporting the academic mission of the university, developing student-athletes as contributors to the greater community, creating opportunities for competitive success, leading student-athletes to understand what it is like to be part of something greater than oneself.

Qualifications :

A Master’s Degree is preferred; Bachelor’s Degree required, demonstrated coaching/recruiting experience and relevant competitive experience recommended. All candidates should also possess an understanding of the role athletics plays in a rigorous academic setting and an ability to identify and attract outstanding students to the University. Candidates must have a commitment to and responsibility for adhering to all rules and regulations of Ohio Wesleyan University, the North Coast Athletic Conference, and the NCAA. Effective written and oral communication skills are required.
