Job Description
Assist in the enhancement of a compressive sports camp program at a Div I-A institution serving 36 sports, over 1000 student-athletes and 100 coaches. Team orientated approach within the camps office to assist and implement the best camp or clinic in the country. Manages the financial operations for the Camps and Event Management units. Prepares purchase orders and responsible for payments for vendors and event staff (line judges, table crew, PA announcers, etc.) at athletic events, championships and special events. Manages payments to camp staff, refunds, cancellations and discounts to camp registrants as well as the daily financial operations and management of credit card machines and the Camps Office bank. Assist with Camps & Event Management administrative duties and events as assigned. These duties include but are not limited to: pre-camp or event communications, camp email account, event staff payroll, camp website/marketing/advertising, event surveys and on-site check-ins/event oversite. Management of hydration program for each camp. The Camp office is customer services driven in which we will represent not only the individual camp but the University as a whole in a positive light. This role will be expected to oversee some nights and weekend camps in an effort to assist our coaching staff. Serve as the primary event manager at assigned athletic events, serving as the direct supervisor to gameday event staff/ ushers/ticket takers, ball kids, public address announcer and timing/table crew and student interns. They will act as liaison to game officials, visiting teams, replay and TV Networks. Coordinates visiting team practices with Assistant Director of Event Management & Facility Scheduling.
Collaborates and communicates with numerous athletic department areas and campus partners including athletic communications, marketing, live events, facility operations, video services, ticketing, merchandise, parking and concessions to ensure the successful presentation of events & championships. Assists in hiring, training, scheduling and supervising of event staff (Redcoats, Ushers, Guest Attendants). Assists with the Event Management intern program by attending meetings, leading professional development sessions and assisting with the hiring and training of intern staff. Assists with the preparation of bidding materials for NCAA, Big Ten and other conference tournaments and events. Attends weekly event meetings and work on other special projects and assignments or working groups as determined by supervisor. This position will require to work nights and weekends based on the schedule of OSU athletic events. This position works in a creative and collaborative team environment where change is embraced and innovation is encouraged.

Minimum Education Required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Advanced degree in relevant field may be desirable. 4 years of relevant experience required. 4-8 years of relevant experience preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
3-5 years experience in event management required. Extensive championship hosting experience desired. Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse staff and customer base, excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and events desired. Preferred candidates will have experience supervising part time staff and students.
