Job Description:

Reporting to the Director of Athletics, the Head Coach Women's Flag Football will develop, organize and administer all aspects of a competitive NCAA Division III Women's Flag football program. This is a twelve (12) month, part-time position.

Responsibilities include:

  • recruiting qualified student-athletes for a competitive team within the Skyline Conference,
  • coaching,
  • conducting and supervising all practice sessions and home/away contests,
  • assigning responsibilities to and supervising the Assistant Coach Women's Flag Football and volunteer assistant coaches,
  • developing a comprehensive contest schedule,
  • coordinating all team travel,
  • mentoring and monitoring athletic, academic and personal progress of student-athletes
  • coordinating fundraising and community service events for the Women's Flag Football program, and
  • performing related duties as required.

The Head Coach is responsible for compliance with Title IX, NCAA, Skyline Conference and SUNY Old Westbury rules and regulations. The Head Coach along with his/her assistant will be the drivers of the passenger vans for all away team travel. Participation required as necessary in SUNY Old Westbury and Athletic Department sponsored events such as Open House Admissions events and the annual Athletic awards dinner. The successful candidate must have experience with multicultural student body populations.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree.
  • Two (2) years' experience coaching flag football at the collegiate or high school level with demonstrated success.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Title IX gender equity and regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven recruiting skills.
  • Must have a commitment to student-athlete academic success and well-being.
  • Must have and maintain the appropriate valid NYS driver's license and have a motor vehicle record which is free from major violations or a pattern of repeat violations.
  • Experience with multicultural student body populations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • First Aid and CPR certifications.
