Posting Number SP005297P Position Title Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach Division/College Athletics Department General Athletic Support Location Moscow Posting Context Statement The Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach ( ASCC ) is directly responsible for establishing, implementing, directing, and supervising the strength and conditioning programs for assigned intercollegiate athletic teams, as well as assisting with the design and implementation of the strength and conditioning of football. The ASCC will assist with coordinating the intercollegiate athletics use of the Iverson Speed and Strength Center, as well as assist in the daily cleaning and upkeep of the facility. The position reports directly to the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach (Olympic Sports). Position Overview The Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach ( ASCC ) is directly responsible for establishing, implementing, directing, and supervising the strength and conditioning programs for assigned intercollegiate athletic teams, as well as assisting with the design and implementation of the strength and conditioning of football. The Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach will also assist with coordinating the intercollegiate athletics use of the Iverson Speed and Strength Center, as well as assist in the daily cleaning and upkeep of the facility. The Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach will assist in the supervision of graduate assistants, student assistants, interns, practicum students, part-time employees and work study individuals.   • Two years in intercollegiate strength and conditioning
  • Implementing strength and conditioning programs for multiple sports
  • Using computer software and applications for word processing, email and internet research
  • Communicating effectively with student-athletes, coaches, staff, facilities personnel, and medical professionals
  • Experience with NCAA and conference rules and regulations related to Strength and Conditioning
Required Education
  • None
Required Other
  • Certification from an industry-recognized professional organization
  • Current First aid/ AED / CPR certified Obtaining Continuing Education Units (CEUs) as required to maintain professional certification
  • Maintaining membership in professional organizations, reading professional journals, and attending conferences
  • Must be able to travel
Additional Preferred
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited University
  • Previous experience programming for Division I Olympic sports
  • Previous experience coaching Olympic style lifts
  • Knowledge of sports nutrition and previous experience relating information to student-athletes
  • Previous experience in Strength and Conditioning for Division I WBB or MBB
  • Knowledge of OSHA blood borne pathogen guidelines
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
  • Ability to physically demonstrate the appropriate skills and techniques to be used by student-athletes.
  • Ability to visually monitor student-athletes.
  • Sitting, standing, lifting and carrying (up to 50 pounds), reaching, squatting, climbing stairs, kneeling, and moving equipment/boxes up to 50 lbs.
