Middle School Volleyball Coach

Position Overview
BASIS Independent Manhtan is seeking an experienced, passione, and visionary Middle School Girls Volleyball Coach to lead and eleve its volleyball program for students in grades 68. The ideal candide is committed to building a strong, sustainable team culture grounded in discipline, accountability, skill development, and respect. This coach will take ownership of the program by establishing clear structure, fostering student-hlete growth, and promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, and a genuine love for the game, while consistently upholding the values of BASIS Independent Schools with professionalism and integrity.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and lead age-approprie practices th emphasize fundamental volleyball skills, team concepts, and physical conditioning
• Prepare the team for games and competitions, including stregy, lineups, and in-game coaching
• Foster a positive team culture th promotes respect, effort, accountability, and sportsmanship
• Support the social, emotional, and hletic development of middle school student-hletes
• Communice effectively and professionally with students, families, hletic staff, and school administrion
• Ensure student-hlete safety by following school policies, league rules, and best practices for supervision
• Maintain tendance, participion records, and any required team documention
• Attend games, practices, meetings, and professional development sessions as required
• Uphold and model the schools mission, values, and code of conduct

Qualificions

• Prior coaching or playing experience in volleyball preferred
• Experience working with middle schoolaged students strongly preferred
• Strong organizional, communicion, and leadership skills
• Ability to teach fundamental volleyball skills in a supportive and engaging manner
• Commitment to creing an inclusive and encouraging environment for all student-hletes
• CPR/First Aid certificion (or willingness to obtain prior to season start)

Time Commitment

• Practices held after school, typically 24 times per week
• Games scheduled on weekdays and occasional weekends during the season
• Season length and schedule determined by the hletic department
