Web Developer Jobs in District of Columbia

Design and build websites. Web developers strive to create functional webpages that match consumer expectations. For example, ecommerce sites should be able to process payments while appearing reputable to gain users’ trust. Developers communicate with clients and/or management staff to identify what specifications will maximize the site’s effectiveness. They also work closely with web/graphic/user interface designers when preparing layout models and embedding graphics, audio, or videos. Once these plans are finalized, they write the site’s code using both client-side (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and server-side (C#, Java, PHP) languages.

Certain web developers choose to specialize as web architects/programmers, web designers, or webmasters. Some concentrate on performing regular maintenance/upkeep and testing pages for problems like broken links. Web architects/programmers focus on the technical aspects of building websites such as adding new pages, constructing basic frameworks, and establishing functionality. Web designers organize and present the site’s components in aesthetically pleasing formats.
