Job DetailsJob Location: New Rochelle - New Rochelle, NY 10801Position Type: Part TimeEducation Level: 4 Year DegreeSalary Range: $6,000.00 - $6,000.00 Commission/yearTravel Percentage: No Travel RequiredJob Shift: AnyThe part-time assistant coach is responsible for assisting the head coach to ensure the program’s success as directly related to the skill development and performance of the student-athletes, as well as the recruitment, retention, and conduct of the student-athletes. As all staff members are responsible for the policy, procedures, and guidelines of Iona University, the assistant coach must also directly report to the head coach and follow the job requirements specific to the particular assignments inherent to the sport. Other responsibilities include:
Assists with player development as it relates to proper technique, advanced skill instruction, and competition strategy along with team building.
Assists with the evaluation and recruitment of student-athletes.
Evaluates the performance, conduct, and abilities of individuals and groups as assigned by the head coach.
Assists, develops and participates in program planning, contest preparation, scouting, film breakdown, practice sessions, game day activities; coordinates game and practice schedules.
Monitors and assists in areas as assigned including all compliance forms (ex. CARA LOGS), travel itineraries, strength and conditioning, camps and clinics, recruitment, admissions, academic pre-reads, NLIs, academic enhancement, equipment, financial planning and budgeting, purchasing, and fundraising.
Assist program and head coach with game film analysis working with databases such as Volley metrics.
Available to participate in public relations activities, community outreach programs, marketing, and development initiatives as well as alumni engagement.
Adheres to and enforces all policies and procedures of Iona College, athletics department, MAAC, and NCAA.
Responsible for knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations. If found responsible for a violation of NCAA regulations, will be subject to disciplinary or corrective action, including termination if appropriate. Also, may be responsible for any act or omission that may give rise to a finding that the University has violated an NCAA regulation.
Performs other duties as assigned by the head coach and/or athletic director.
This position requires working weekends and holidays and attending athletic events as appropriate.
QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree required.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills required
Previous experience with collegiate volleyball
