Assistant Baseball Coach

Description & Details:

Under the direction of the head coach, the assistant coach will assist in all phases of the program, including off-campus recruiting, assisting with practice and conditioning activities, skill development, scheduling of opponents, film breakdown, academic monitoring of student-athletes, public relations, adherence to rules compliance, participation in clinics and summer camps and professional expectations.

Hiring Range:

Commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Pay is based on several factors, including budget, labor market, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and/or certification and other business considerations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Strong background in baseball skill analysis and techniques.
  • Thorough knowledge, understanding, experience of, and commitment to, NCAA Division I rules and regulations.
  • Commitment to the academic success of the student-athlete.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully train athletes' individual skill development and motivate players to achieve maximum levels of performance.
  • Evidence of ability to interact positively with student-athletes, parents, colleagues and the public.
  • Evidence of strong organizational skills.
  • Evidence of strong work ethic.
  • Demonstration of effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstration of integrity and professional behavior.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Evidence of successful participation as an athlete at a highly competitive level.

  • Evidence of 2 years head coaching experience at an NCAA Division I or II institution

  • Evidence of 2 years of assistant or volunteer coaching position at an NCAA Division I institution

  • Evidence of successful experience in coaching and recruiting baseball at a competitive intercollegiate level.

  • Evidence of compatibility with the philosophy of intercollegiate athletics at North Dakota State University

  • Experience in conducting camps, clinics and tournaments.
